Foi inaugurada, no dia 28 deste mês, uma nova exposição temática no Museu Geológico: Trilobites gigantes de Arouca. As trilobites expostas foram descobertas em rochas que são exploradas e afloram na louseira de Canelas, pertencentes essencialmente à Formação de Valongo, do Ordovícico Médio, que é constituída por ardósias (xistos ardosíferos). 'Há notícia da utilização de ardósia na região de Arouca desde o séc. XVIII e referência à sua exploração em Canelas a partir de 1820'.
