Gravuras de fósseis na Protogaea de Leibniz
As gravuras que se encontram na edição original de Protogaea (1749) são da autoria de Nicolaus Seelander, gravador da Biblioteca da Corte de Hanover. Desenhos análogos a estes podem também ser encontrados em obras de outros autores, como Stenon e Hooke.
Gravura 1 - 'figures I-XVI: reproductions de Conchites, Myites, Ostracites et Cténites; figure XVII: pierre «mégarienne» formée de Coquilles arrondies'.
Gravura 2 - 'Cornes d'Ammon'.
Gravura 3 - 'Bélemnites'.
Gravura 4 - 'Dent d'un animal marin, extraite d'une colline formée par de la vase, à Tida, près de Stederburg; reproduction du Squelette trouvé près de Quedlinbourg'.
